U.S. Roadtrip: IL is for Illinois

Back in Illinois, me and Alex drove through here many years ago before we had kids, when we went on a road trip in these areas. This time we camped by a church outside Chicago. The little town that we stayed in had the best Good Will (seconds hand store) I have ever been to. It was so good so I went back the second day while Alex took the kids to downtown Chicago :-)

Such good little helpers!!!
When we drove through these areas last time we stopped in Rockford to visit Alex's cousin. We happen to drive passed this restaurant "Stockholm Inn" but unfortunately is was closed at that time, think it must have been a Sunday afternoon... This time it so happened that one of Alex's speeches was booked at this restaurant and so while Alex worked me and the kids enjoyed some Swedish food, just slightly americanized :-) The interior of the restaurant was so nice to see, very Swedish!

Swedish pancakes, but with American topping (not jam as we normally do in Sweden)
Now heading to one of the coolest kids museums/giant playgrounds ever!!!
