Marlee's first person

It has been a rather crummy day here, cold, rainy and windy so we have had indoor projects after Marlee got home from preschool. His teacher, by the way, is very impressed by him because he is the only one in class who can say the whole "Our Father" so he is the "leader" when they say it in class :-) Well, his teacher is not the only one he impressed today... today he draw his first person/tadpole figure/huvudfoting, except it did not have his arm out his ears but actually below his head!!!

Well, it is not only Marlee who tried something new lately. I made chili con carne with grounded turkey the other day and it worked just as good as beef, only half the price :-) Alex said that he could never tell that it was not beef!

Snacks in the garden. Note that Marlee is not wearing a sweater while Noah is both wearing a hat and a bandana-scarf, all requested by his royal Highness Noah. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

The day has been very good and we have been very creative with glitter, papers, glue and crayons but it ended not so good. When we got home from picking up Alex Marlee barfed a lot (on the carpet) and was feeling very bad. Alex had to finish a very urgent article  and said he was sorry that he could not help with cleaning it up. I am pretty sure he was rather relieved than sorry :-P Anyways, Marlee is cleaned and so is the carpet (I really had to struggle with feeling bad for Marlee and not for myself while cleaning :-/ ). He went to sleep good and I really hope that he will feel better tomorrow, poor thing!!!

While Marlee was feeling bad Noah had a blast with a bucket on his head. The video is pretty long so I uploaded it on youtube instead of here. Not sure how that is going to work but I am sure it will work somehow. Enjoy! Thanks, Jackie, I had no idea the bucket could be this much fun!! :-)

Having a blast in bubbles!

It s been a good weekend with way more activities than we planned. Which, of course, also meant lots of fun!

First some Friday fun before I tell you about the weekend.

Some apples ready to be dried in the oven (perfect snacks for the kids)

Noah is back sleeping in his bed, as long as his doggie friend can join him (he brings it to our bed during the night, too...)

The weather on Saturday was wonderful!! However, I had my weekly "sleep-in-morning" :-) and did not get up until 10:40!!! At the time I was done eating breakfast and getting ready it was already time for lunch but we decided to have a late lunch and take care of our plants in the garden for a while. Marlee is a very good helper and makes sure they all get water, rather more than less :-)

We had a yummy lunch on Chick-fil-a and on the way home we passed a Native American festival where we decided to stop. It appeared to be a very good idea! They had shows as well as attractions that you paid extra for and a lot of different things for sale. Marlee got to go in a bubble!! and we enjoyed a bird show, too. Followed by a reptile show, including alligator wrestling.

Showing the birds before the show (they took off the hood)

Today we went to church and when Alex went to work after me and the children went to the beach :-) The sun was hiding but it was a rather nice temperature and a lot of people on the beach.

Happy boys!

When we got home the boys were rather sandy so I decided to give them a bath. They had so much fun even if it was just an ordinary bath :-)

To make pizza for dinner is not the best idea I have ever had...

Running errands to finally finishing VISA papers!!!!!!!!

We have finally sent in the VISA papers to Homeland Security!!! What a relief!! More than 50 pages of forms, several photo copies of passport and passport photos. We have spent a lot of time this week to finalize this but we have also had fun spending time with Deborah, Curren and little Toka (the baby brother) and enjoyed the sunny weather! Yes, it has been kind of cold, probably very cold if you ask a Floridian :-) but still very sunny and nice! Me and the kids enjoyed a lunch outside the other day and we had a bbq for dinner yesterday!! Thanks for the BĂ©arnaise sauce, mamma and pappa! :-)

Good weekend!

We have had a good weekend. Sunny but cold Saturday and rainy but warmer Sunday. Yesterday we spent some time in the garden and running some errands. Ended the day with popcorn and some TV with the children. Today we went to church and also attended a concert/worship there at night. They have had a lot of good music lately with bands that can even be found on Spotify for example :-)

Marlee having a lot conversation with mormor and morfar on the phone :-)

Yes, we have a cucumber in our garden!!!!!!!!!!!

Great, awsome, beautiful day!!!

The day started out kind of cold, 10C (50F) but sunny and the sky was blue! We had plans to go to the park with Curren so as soon as we were done with the morning routines we left and picked up Curren to go to the park. The boys had a great time! They played very good and time went by quikly.

Snack time at the park

The day had turned out to be a gorgeous day and it gave me such a good feeling. I decided to ask Alex if he wanted to have ice cream lunch with us on the beach. I simply did not want to go inside and it was a perfect day for ice cream, even for lunch! :-)

Ice cream on the beach!

Quite a big ice cream :-)

Alex had to go back to work and Noah needed his nap so we left the beach. Back home Marlee and I decided that Noah should sleep in the stroller and we would go for a walk on the beach. It was wonderful and it made me feel so good. Marlee had a great time collecting shells and Noah slept in the stroller. It was quite a lot of people on the beach by our house.

Fun at the beach!

Always so curious!!

Back home Marlee and I took care of our plants which needed some extra attention while Noah kept sleeping. He eventually woke up and we had some fun in the garden before it was time for dinner and bed time.

I am so happy that we could spend the whole day outside. We made up for all the time indoor while I was sick :-)

I almost forgot about the little fish Marlee made yesterday... This morning it was finished and this is what it looks like! Very nice!!

Indoor projects

I am still recovering from my sickness so we have mostly been indoor so far this week. When Marlee and Noah have not been building train tracks Marlee has been practicing letters and numbers, and Noah has mostly been exploring what ever he can find or riding his tricycle, which we have in the house.

Drawing a phone for mamma and pappa

Noah and "his" shoes!!!

I got Marlee some new fun books :-)

Noah still dislike his bed and rather sleep on the floor...

This is how we wake up most days...all in one bed...

Our car got decorated with some very pretty stickers!!

Aunt Cindy (Alex's sister) and Uncle Danny paid us a nice visit yesterday

Listening to Bamse on his CD player

Surprisingly focused when making a window ornament!! (Thank you farmor!)

In the oven... result can be seen in the next blog post.....

Cold and sick week

A few days ago we had zero degrees (32F) here for a the whole day. It was colder here than in Stockholm!! It was also the same day as I got sick and I was truly freeeeezing when I had to go outside into the car. Alex has taken Marlee to the preschool each morning this week because I have felt so bad and picked him up. I have stayed at home trying to recover.

Marlee took a picture of me and Noah napping while his "played" on the phone

Me and Marlee's project. He was short-lived though. Noah, the Destroyer, met him soon after the picture was taken...

Friday I was well enough to take the boys to the playground, which they so deserved after being inside with me all week! Curren's mum has been sick, too, so he came with us and we all had a lot of fun! Marlee found a be-nest, before I realized it, and took it down. One bee was in there and it stung him. I have heard that it is good to put sugar on bee-sting, to "suck" out the poison, so I grabbed a caramel from my bag. Luckily Marlee did not seem very bothered by it so they could continue playing and it was not a big deal.

On the way home from the playground Curren and Marlee were holding hands in the car. So cute!!

One of our in-door projects this week

Today was movie night. Marlee and Alex really enjoyed the movie while Noah enjoyed the popcorn :-)
