Happy Birthday Alex!! Go-carts and Chanukah.

Step 8 of my recap, and my last recap post!!! I am back on track!

Alex’s birthday just passed and as our tradition goes he got breakfast in bed. Luckily he sleeps late so I had time to run and get fresh donuts before we celebrated him. All boys in our families want donut for breakfast for their birthday. I guess David has not expressed it yet but I’m sure he will follow his dad and brothers :-)

Normally the birthday person gets to decide what we do during the day but today I had a surprise for Alex so we drove to Jacksonville where we dropped off the boys with aunt Cindy and uncle Danny. Me and Alex drove to a very special bookstore Chamblin Bookmine. They have mostly used but also new books and they have more books than any other place I have ever been to, except for some libraries maybe. We spent a good two hours in there and had only scratched the surface.

After our bookstore adventure we had dinner with aunt Cindy and uncle Danny. All in all it was a very good day and I think Alex was happy with it event though he did not get to pick the activities. Of course the waiters abs waitresses at the restaurant sang for Alex :-)

Last weekend we went to a park in Daytona with go-carts. All boys but David got to go. Gabriel and
Rafael had to go with alex and I.

We also had the pleasure to participate in a Chanukah celebration this weekend with our Jewish friends. We learned a lot and had a lot of fun. We were the only non-Jews but there were people from Russia, Brazil, Israel and puerto Rico so I was not the only foreigner.

It was the first day of Chanukah so we lit the first candle in the menorah, in addition to the “attendant”candle that is a little higher than the other candles.

The boys learned the game Dreidel which is a traditional Chanukah game.

The boys really liked Dreidel so the morning after the party they created their own version :-)

Museum of Illusions - so fun!!!

Step 4 of my recap: We made a trip to museum of illusions in Orlando. We went to a similar one in Vienna, Austria, a few years ago and the kids loved it. This one did not disappoint us either. It had a few more things but was very similar to the ones we had been to earlier.

This is what a 50/50 mix of me and Alex would look like 😂

We will be back!

All family has left and we try to keep the Christmas spirit high

Step 7 of my recap: Mormor and mortar left to go back to Sweden. Farmor stayed a few more days but has gone back to Miami, too. We have done some more school work and finished both coops for the semester.

I probably have more “sleepy” pictures than I can count. This is Gabriel and Noah :-)

Watching this year’s Swedish Advent Calendar for the first time. As you can see, they are really into it!

This guy fell on his face when he tried to skate board. Luckily he was sitting in his knees and was not standing up.

Big happening, Marlee finally got braces!!! He got he braces on but he will also get an expander in January. Hopefully it is not as painful to get the expander as the braces!

Marlee and morfar put up the Christmas lights a while ago and I have made the boys’ gift advent calendar but the dis pretty much the only Christmas preparations we have done in our house. I just don’t know how to have enough time to do all the things we want and need to do. The gift calendar includes a lot of reading while opening the gifts so we do get some Christmas stories and luckily we have had some Christmas experiences in other places as well.

Christmas festival at the church where we have our cc coop. Here the boys are decorating cookies.

Lucia festival in Sanford!

David loves animals and he gets to excited every time he sees Lizzy, but she is always very quick to run away and he never gets to pet her. Until the other night when he was laying in our bed and Lizzy came over to him to sniff him ❤️

I have told you about our tadpoles before and we thought the story was over and that the last one had died. Gabriel was going to clean out the bucket to use it for lizards instead and emptied out the water. Then on the concrete was our tadpole. Humongous!! We quickly scooped it up and put new water in the bucket. Hoping it would not die of shock!

Christmas “fika” with Noah’s class from the cc coop. All the bigger kids were outside playing and David and his friend were chilling inside with the parents :-)

Soup for dinner. Even though David spilled most of it it was no problem. He just got it out of the bib 😂

Our neighbors have chickens and after the hurricane took some out fence David can enjoy them even more :-)
