Paradise

Alex and I got to visit another paradise... Gotska Sandön ... all by ourselves with no children. It is an uninhabited island about 2h from Fårö that has some simple living possibilities. We got to simplest one, camping in a tent, because that was the only thing left when we booked. Worked out great!! We stayed for two nights but could have stayed a lot longer!

Getting ready to go on the boat

You can see us (the blue car) and Gotska Sandön (red marker)

Bye bye children and modern life!
Unloading the bags :-)
Some of the different hikes (the distances are in km and only one way) We walked to Säludden by walking on Höga Åsenslingan and Tärnudden.

Saturday = Family day
We started the day at the church on Fårö (where my farmor and farfar are buried, and I baptized) and then we headed to the Fårö museum across the street. Kebab for lunch in Fårösund. Last but not least Tingstäde underground military bunker museum and the Tingstäde church.

This sweet boy LOVES bugs of all kinds. This is a "diver" (dykare) and he checks on every day. It lives in one of our barrels with water.
We have not had one drop of rain since we came to Sweden and that causes a lot of severe problems for farmers as well as many many forest fires around the country. However, it is wonderful for all the people who are on vacation and the sunsets are beautiful, every day!
