Busy week

We have had a cold but good and sunny week! Marlee and I have visited the open pre school two times and played with a lot of other children. We spend one day with my friend Johanna and her son Gustaf (15 months old). Yesterday Marlee played in the snow while I was shoveling snow. Today we went to the closest playground to check out the swings. It was a very difficult walk through the forrest and snow and fun swings!

Thanks Jackie and Doug for the nice "winter suit"

Making sure mummy made a good job

I have bough Marlee a toothbrush and toothpaste since he is getting more and more teeth. Tonight was the first time we used it. It was mor fun to suck on the toothbrush than to let me brush his teeth, but I am sure we will get better at this :-)

Look at my new teethis!!

About time to catch up!

It is about time to get back here and give you an update. I hope that you have not given up on us!! As you know we are back in Sweden. Before leaving Miami we took a quick trip to Costa Rica, Marlee, Alex, Cory (Alex's brother) and I. Very nice and warm! Stayed at some very nice hotels, one close to the airport and capital (which we never visited), one next to a river in the rainforrest and one very charming hotel close to the ocean. When staying in the rainforrest we went Canopying, which means that you hang on to a wire and slide between trees. It was a lot of fun! We also went swimming in the pacific ocean. Even Marlee! He really loved it!! Unfortunately, we did not have the camera with us to the beach... The only bad adventure we had was a car crush. It was a little scary but luckely no one got hurt bad and the car company handled it excellent. We got a new car and the insurance paid for everything! Marlee took the crash very well. He stopped crying as soon as I took him out of his seat and did not seem to be affected at all.

Iguanas, they were everywhere!!
Just another iguana. This one can walk (run)
on the water when it is baby

Now we are back in Sweden where it has been pretty cold. We are all still jetlagged. I am trying to figure out how to help Marlee to get back on track but it is not very easy. He seems to very confused and takes short but many naps during the day. Today me and him went on a long walk in the beautiful sunshine! A lot of people was ice skating or just out walking. Marlee went crawling on the ice and dipped his face in the snow a few times :-)

Taking off...

Yummy!!

Break

I am sorry that it has been so long since I wrote something here, and I will not really do it now either... I have just been so so busy. First with our trip to Costa Rica. Fun! Fun! and then with our house in Sweden. After "traveling" for 3 months it was very nice to be back HOME but we have had some unpleasant surprises since we got back... Car battery totally dead, septictank completely full (seems like the toilet has been leaking a little water the whole time..) and the washing machine does not work properly... But I like our little house...

I'll be back soon with some fun updates!!! Until then, there are pictures from Costa Rica on Cory's facebook for those of you who have that!

Marlee update

I have been so focused of writing what we have done and has not written very much about Marlee, this is, after all, his blog and I think he deserves some attention :-) Hrm, like he does not get attention every single second he is awake... Well, he is coping with all the traveling, exitement, people, new places etc etc very well. It is only the sleeping that I am still not happy with, but it is getting better, too. On top of all that he is teething, poor thing. I believe that is the reason for him having some fever as well as a cold. Though, the couph that has been bothering him since we got to Miami is still not good which worries me a little...

The last few days he has been able to fall a sleep on his own in his bed a few times, without nursing or being rocked to sleep. That is great progress!

Two days ago when Linn and I went to Gainesville for the basket ball, my parents took care of Marlee (Alex was working) and he manage to go to sleep good as well as going back to sleep when he woke up, with some help from mormor and morfar. More progress...

Now it is time to make some porridge / baby cereal for Marlee! After that we are taking off for Callahan and then Miami. See you later!!

Busy in Ormond

We have been here in Ormond for a while now and I have surely kept my family busy, or maybe they have kept me busy :-) I will try to give a short recap. It is mostly for me, so that I remember what we have done, but if it can be of interest for you I am happy :-)

December 29
Nice walk on the beach and after that a trip to St Augustin where we had lunch and walked around the old fashioned shops.

December 30
Moster Linn and mormor

Walk on the beach again. My mum, Marlees mormor, went swimming in the freezzzzing water!! Later that day I challenged everyone to a round of minigolf. Me and Marlee got second place...

On the way to the minigolf, a little sad Marlee

Moster Linn

December 31
Dad's birthday and we took him for a suprise trip to Daytona where we went on an "All access tour" on the race track. It was a lot of fun. Though, the hamburgers at the restaurant there were probably the worst I have ever seen... After the race track tour we took our car down to Daytona beach were we drove on the beach. Tha car races in Daytone started on the beach about 100 years ago but
now you are only allowed to drive 10 miles/hour :-)

A tired, very handsome, Marlee

Had a nice dinner at the house with all close family and Alex's grandma Nancy. The champagne tasted good at midnight and we even got to see some fireworks eventhough they had banned it because of the drought! Alex and Cory drove Nancy home before midnight and got to celebrate the new year with her
and her dog Mac.

January 1
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Cindy, Danny, Aunt Jackie, Uncle Doug and Aunt Peggy came to visit. So nice to see them all! It was the first time I met Danny but we have been friends on facebook for a long time, and I guess that is what counts, right! ;-)

January 2
Universal, Adventure Island!!!!!! Left home early, had a great day, got home late! I am not a Harry Potter fan, never read a book or saw a movie, but the new Harry Potter land was amazing!! I am so happy we waited in line to see it all! If anyone is going there with small children, "Child Swap" works very good! Lines get shorter around 5pm so if you prefer to stay late, you can come late, too.

January 3
Visited Blue Springs, which was amazing. So many fish in the clear water and a lot of MANATEES!!! So cool! We also saw some alligators chilling in the water and a turtle who looked stranded...

Fish, fish and some more fish...

Stranded turtle?? Do gators eat turtles?

Manatees / Sea cows  (can you see the gator?)

Martlee with morfar

Linn and I drove to Gainesville later to watch a basket ball game. It was a lot of fun. We were supposed to spend some time with Alex, Jorge and Lucas, too, but got there too late. I really really wish that I would have had more time to spend with them. Little Lucas is sooo cute! Now we only drove by and said Hi, which was better than nothing.

January 4
Relaxed with a Marlee who only wanted to be carried :-) My family went to Kennedy Space Center and Alex, Marlee and I stayed home. I took Marlee for a stroller walk to Publix. Later at night we had some Swedish Glögg since it was the last night in Ormond. We are very happy that we were able to stay here. Big thanks to Kathy and her brother Mike!
