First week back home!

Wow, It’s been busy. The combination of unpacking, cleaning a house that has been lived in with two animals but not cleaned in five weeks, seeing friends and trying to finish up some minor school work at the same time is a LOT of work. Fun, too, of course!

In our first week at home we have managed to have two sleepovers, seen several friends, unpacked almost everything, done some cleaning, done one day of school, half a beach day, seen a play in which four of our friends are. And, eaten some of the 40lbs/20kg of candy that we brought from Sweden! I know it sounds a lot (and it is) but Swedish candy is just that good! Both taste and ingredients

Some of our candy.

Like mamma like son, right!?

Beach day with some of our best friends!! It was gorgeous!!

Eating a boiled egg…

Going home!! But not without making a few stops on the way :-)

It was time to start our 20h drive back to Florida. We had a few stops planned, both for Alex’s works but also for seeing new places. We planned a three day drive to get back.

Our first stop was the Lexington Greens where the Revolutionary war started on April 19, 1775.

Heck out his shirt, from when Alex was small.

On the road again… the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Next stop, Arlington National Cemetery where 400,000 people are buried. Many important people have their graves here. We went to see J.F Kennedy’s grace as well as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the statue The Confederate Memorial.

Can you find the Swedish name on the list?

The Confederate Memorial

It is a beautiful and hilly cemetery.

J.F.K’s grave

Dinner time, always fun!?

Day 3 and almost back in Florida but first we visited with some dear friends who now live in North Carolina. The used to live in Ormond Beach but nowadays we mostly see them on the road - Montana, California and now North Carolina :-)

Camp Constitution in New Hampshire

The time has come for our yearly family camp in at Singing Hills in New Hampshire. It is such a joy every year. Great families (and teenagers and older people), good food, beautiful nature, wonderful staff and educational. Since David is too small to go to class him and I spent a lot of time with another mom with little ones. It was her first time and her oldest daughter was in Gabriel’s and Rafael’s class.

David might be the most popular “baby” at camp. Everyone knows his name :-)

Camp fire

One of the nights we had to have “camp fire” inside due to rain. That gave Gabriel a chance to show off his piano skills with Imagine Dragons. The rest of the family also performed with In Christ Alone.

In Rafael’s and Gabriel’s class. All smaller siblings joined joined for this story.

Alex was, as normal, one of the speakers.

Some of the kids playing Four Squares. A new game for us.

Getting ready for the parade!

One of the people running for president next election came to speak at the camp, Vivek Ramaswamy. Alex got a chance to interview him.

Silly David!

During the final ceremony Marlee was awarded Super Camper of the year!!! One boy and one girl are picked of the teenagers, as well a “Runner upper”.

What a wonderful week!! We have enjoyed old friend but also made some new one.
