Miami vacation/adventures

We just had the privilege to spend almost a week in Miami with farmor, Cory and the cousins. Cory and farmor got a new boat not long ago and we had the pleasure to go out on it several time. The weather did not always cooperate and we ended up in several storms, which just made it all more adventurous. :-) Overall we had some great time on the boat and we are very grateful that we could go on all the fun adventures with the cousins!

Visit to Elliot Key. Absolutely wonderful and not a single storm :-)

This little guy really likes his life west, which really surprises me. Seriously, how comfortable does it look!?

Paining session :-)

How I wish that we could grow mangoes in Ormond!!!

Going out to see the sunset. We saw a little sunset but even lore storms. We took shelter at Boca shita and the boys made a fire :-)

Trying to find a place to snorkel but ended up in another storm.

Last day and Alex, Cory, Marlee and Eli woke up super early to go out deep water fishing. They got 4 mahi mahi!!! So delicious!!

In between vacations

As mormor and morfar left we went back to do some more school. All the boys have work left they need to do before they can go on summer break. At this time of the w hoop year they have a check list with everything they need to do and they can do it as fast as slow as they want. It is in their hands (more or less) to have summer break soon or in a while.

On our way home from the airport after dropping off mormor and morfar we stopped at our land in de Leon springs.  A new calf was born!!! I heard later that it was less than 24h old!!! I didn’t get a great picture as it was hiding behind his mom :-)

Curious or intimidating?

Our neighbor’s piglets :-)

Dog walk with the kids in the rain.

Another visit to our land and the little calf. ❤️

This little man loves to sit inside things :-)

Gabriel realized that we had missed Bubble’s birthday, which was in February (!) and made sure we got her some toys and birthday cards! He is such a thoughtful little boy!! ❤️

It was time for my yearly treat, the homeschool convention in Orlando.  This year I was leaving David home and was going with NO kids! Farmor was coming up to help out and I tried to profe some activities for the boys to make it easier. Water beads was one of them. They are tiny tiny bit grow in water. I bought three different sizes.

After about 1h

Our mini garden with potatoes :-)

I left for my retreat and this was the view from my window!

There were almost 200 speeches to listen to and some of them Ben Carson and Rob Desantis. It is always nice when politicians and people within other professions take the time to support us homeschoolers!

Back home again after three wonderful days at the convention. Woke up in the morning and found this little man in the kitchen with a package of cherry tomatoes. He LOVES tomatoes! So cute!

Girls trip to Kelly park/Rock springs. Just as great as always!! We went with families from both our coops.

Less than a week after after my retreat I had a girls night out with the coop leaders from blue oak. We had a great dinner and then a painting workshop. So much fun!!

❤️❤️

Time to go on vacation again… to Miami…

The “extra special stuff”..

I apologize for making you wait sooo long for the “extra special stuff” I mentioned almost a month ago! My parents were finally able to come visit after 2,5 years!! How wonderful! We did not really believe it until we actually saw them at the sidewalk outside the gray airport terminal building. They made it and we were so happy to see them!

I meant to post this earlier and I didn’t find the time so here we go again… picture bonanza! :-)

The day after they arrived we were invited to a birthday party in de Leon springs. We had fun at the party and we also had a chance to spend some time at our land there as it was one of our figure neighbors who had the party :-)

PiƱata time!

New pillowcase that mormor made him :-)

Back at the house and story time with mormor and morfar.

When mormor and morfar came we only had one bathroom working. Our “new” bathroom was completely backed up, including shower, sinks and toilet. Alex and morfar tried to solve it with a snake but could not get to the problem even though they tried hard. We eventually had to have a Plummer come to fix it.

Story time with morfar!

Visit to De Leon Springs spring :-)

Raffi showing his swimming skills

Raffi showing his reading skills :-)

Marlee, Alex and I went to a Desantis fundraiser dinner in the villages. Alex spoke there and me and Marlee enjoyed the food :-)

Visit to the Washington Oaks Garden beach side. It has really cool rocks (and seaweed apparently ;-)

It’s a good park for skim boarding as well.

Visit to Kelly park/Rock springs. One of my favorite springs. You can walk up a short distance and float down the spring river, back to the swimming area. Such a wonderful place to take the kids. When the schools are out it can be hard to get in as the parks gets full but since we can go any day almost we try to go when other kids are in school :-)

Tiny detail, they celebrated my birthday and I got breakfast (and gifts) in bed :-)

Looking back now I really feel like we did so many fun things while mormor and mortar were here. Here is our next visit, Daytona lagoon water park. Christmas gift from mormor and morfar. Perfect weather for the water park and no people!!

Just a simple beach day :-)

Dinner out at River Grille. One of our favorite restaurants in Ormond. Great atmosphere and view of the river. Sometimes you can see alligators by the docks.

To make sure we filled the day completely we took the boat out after the restaurant to show mormor and morfar disappearing island. We realized that it was not the best time of the year to do it as the water level was very high and the tide was really making the water move quickly. The kids had to be tied to a rope when they went into the water to avoid floating away!!

A last picture before they had to go back to Sweden! :-( Although it was very sad to say good bye I am very grateful for the tiMe we had together and all the fun things we got to do and see. And hopefully it does not have to be 2,5 years until next time!!

I almost forgot to mention something else that happened that has not happened in many years. I got to celebrate my mom for Mother’s Day, WITH my mom!! It was Mother’s Day here and not the Swedish Mother’s Day but still good enough! I am so glad we could go do some shopping and getting a pedicure only the two of us! Not sure that has happened since I had Marlee!!
