Daddy time

We have had some nice weather the last few days and we have all taken the chance to spend time on the beach and played with Marlee. Alex has taken time off work and had some good times with Marlee. It is so fun to see them play! Also mormor and morfar have made sure to enjoy the little dude :-) I have taken the chance to sit still ;-) It is just soooo much energy in that little body and most of the time everything is so interesting, exiting and fun! He is so entertaining to listen to and to watch.

Today Alex went back home to focus more on his work and to look after the house (= the plants). It has been so nice to have him here. Last night Alex and I actually left Marlee with mormor and morfar and went out for a nice dinner. I believe it was the second time we did that since Marlee was born and it was very nice to be able to sit down and have a conversation without being interrupted :-) It will probably be a while until next time...

Yesterday we all went to Visby. The weather was rather chilly so we decided to have lunch there before Sofia and Mobi were getting on their plane back to Stockholm. We had a good time in Visby even if the city was crowded!

As soon as Sofia and Mobi had left Marlee and I went to visit my God parents, Nisse and Gunnel. We had a very good afternoon and evening with them!

By 9:50 pm Alex arrived with the ferry to Visby so we went there to pick him up before going back to Fårö. Good to have him here!

Today we woke up to a bright blue sky so Marlee and I brought lunch with us down to the beach. Alex was not feeling very good so he stayed home most of the day but came down two times to see us and to enjoy the wonderful weather. Today has been the best day so far this (crappy) summer! My friend Ulrika surprised me today and came by with her family. Super nice!

At the beach today Marlee found a new friend, Emma, 5 years old. She really enjoyed playing with Marlee and they live only two houses away from us :-)

Tomorrow mormor and morfar are coming back to Fårö after spending a week moving, in Stockholm.

Marlee and i arrived to Fårö a few days ago together with Sofia and Mobi. We have had mixed weather and this is a selection from the last past days. Some time spent on a rather cold beach (where is the summer???) and some time spent in the rain. But the boys are surely enjoying it!

Alex has taken Marlee to bed two nights in a row now, which has given me some extra time at night, which has resulted in an updated blog :-) Two days in a row!!

Marlee's daymum has given all the parents, and children, a task for the summer - to make a "box" that the children can talk about when they come back after the summer. I decided that Marlee and I will plant some veggies in a big wooden pot that we will pbserve as they grow and take pictures. I had already "pre-grown" the plants in the greenhouse so that we did not have to start out from scratch.

Cathing up at home after a very busy June

Get ready for a very long post...

After a June which kept us busy every second of July has been spent cathing up at our home base. I will try to report all the goodies from last post and hope you will enjoy the reading!!

June 27th - Visiting Skansen, a Zoo (-ish) in Stockholm

Marlee's daymum and the other two daymums that she spends a lot of time with went to Skansen in Stockholm. Skansen is a zoo with mostly Nordic animals but also a place where you can experience the old way of living in Sweden with old houses and people dresses as in the old days. Even though it was not one of Marlee's regular days at the daymum he and I was welcome to join and so we did. We had a very good day!

June 29th - my last day at work!!

My summer vacation started the first week of July and it will go until my maternity leave starts in August. I will most likely not come back to work, not this work at least, since we are planning on leaving Sweden, but in case I would come back, it will be February 1st 2014!!!

June 29th - July 2nd - Visiting aunt Linn and Johan (Linn turned 30 July 1st)

Marlee and I flew down to the south of Sweden, Skåne, to celebrate my sister's birthday. My parents came, too. We had a great time with lots of sun, Bosse (their dog), the birthday party and watching everyone else work on the new house they are building. Or rather, have some other people building :-)

In addition to the birthday we also got the chance to celebrate that Linn and Johan got married a few weeks ago!! They are also having a baby soon, a little cousin to Marlee.

July - summer is finally here!!!!

The summer has been very cold this year but now it seems like the heat is finally here! Marlee and I have gone swimming almost every day. We have not stayed long at the beach but enough time to enjoy the water. Marlee is so much braver than I am and he is really enjoying the water!
