Longer days and shorter nights

It is very nice to notice how the days are longer now and the nights shorter, it is still light outside when the boys go to bed and long before they wake up. Sunrise/Sunset: 4am/9:30pm.  Today the weather was rather crummy but we have a  great day. Started by joining the open pre-school in the Indoor Soccer arena in Bro where the kids had lots of fun things to do. Noah and Marlee really liked the big baloons! (see video below). After having lunch at home Noah took a nap while Marlee and I made a simple cake (sockerkaka). When that was done me and Marlee cleaned the dishes. It was not that many but it still took us about two hours since Marlee wanted to do most of them :-) I don't mind! He has also tried out a computer game that we just got him to practice number and math. He is doing really good!

Sunset the other night, at 9:30 pm

Fun in Kungsträdgården, Stockholm last weekend

Marlee has learned a new task, washing dishes :-) Perfect timing since the dishwasher just broke!

Sheepies - Car failure - Junibacken - Dentist

Our time on Fårö had to come to an end but we used the last days wisely :-) Morfar arranged so that we could go and visit one of his friends, Conny, who have sheep. Marlee even got to feed a lamb who's mother did not want her. Little Ester. We first had to find the sheepies in the pasture but when they heard Conny's voice they all came running. It is so great to see such happy animals!!!

Looking for the sheepies

We found them, or maybe they found us...

Ester was really hungry!

Funny face!

Grumpy face!

Reading Lilla Fridolf and 91:an :-)

Sleepy train!

Look, I got a helmet!!

The car did not want to start one day before we were supposed to leave... Good that we could borrow mormor's and morfar's car!! They got and old broken car and we got a very nice new car. Maybe it wasn't so bad after all ;-)

Last nap on Fårö. Finally mormor got to hold Noah, too! He mostly fancy men...

So we left Fårö and got home as planned. The day before my birthday. Alex really surprised me by serving me breakfast in bed. And what a breakfast!! I was staying in bed for a while, starting the day very slowly as I could hear Alex and the boys playing in the living room. When I finally got up I took the kids shopping with me and then we had lunch at IKEA. The day ended with a BBQ and doing laundry :-) What a great birthday!

My very Swedish breakfast, By Alex Newman :-)

Earlier this week me and the boys went to Junibacken (a kids museum with Swedish books themes, mainly from Astrid Lindgren but also other ones).

Marlee and Pettsson

Noah in a big monkey from Jan Lööf books.

My rock star biker!!

Early this morning me and Marlee had an appointment at the dentist. Marlee did very good as he got to try some of the instruments.

The excellent patient!

Noah thought it took too long for me to clean up the lunch and take him for a nap...

Steep and high adventure

Yesterday, yet another a cloudy day, we all went to see the rauks (big rocks) by Digerhuvud. Marlee and I climbed up on a pretty big one.

Strange looking clouds on the way to Digerhuvud

Morfar and Marlee on a rauk

Mormor and Noah on a rauk

Marlee's and my challenge

We made it to the top of the rauk :-)

Don't fall!!

Nice view from the top!

We went to a playground here on Fårö in the afternoon and the boys had a lot of fun!

Today was another rainy day and it was kind of hard to decide what we should do. Finally the sand slopes in Ullahau, Sudersand turned out to be our choice and we ignored the rain and went for a walk.

Up and down the slopes!

Afternoon activity with mormor

Later this afternoon we got to see the sun!!!!

Noah was just as surprised as I was!

Great days in Skåne turned in to great days on Fårö, yet very cold!

It was great to spend time with Linn and her family. It was especially fun and interesting to see how the children interacted. So cute!!

Sharing pillow

Taking a break, while at the playground. Noah and Ailo

Exploring the playground. Linn and the smaller boys.

Such and awesome playground in the forest!

A different day, a different playground. Ailo and Marlee.

Trying out Johan's skate board and the ramp (yes, the jeans are backwards)

Noah is helping Ailo to drink

We tried to get a picture of the cousins together...

... but they were way to tires and unfocused :-)

Ailo and Noah took off. We did not think that they would go very far my what did we know...

Time to leave Linn, Ailo and Joahan and drive to Fårö.

Could not leave without taking one more photo of the canola flowers

Made a stop at Öland and the Öland bridge (the longest bridge in Sweden, if excluding the bridge between Sweden and Denmark)

Had a lot of fun on the inflatable "loaf"

Driving back over the bridge to catch the boat to Gotland and Fårö

The trip went good and the boys did very good! We arrived in the middle of the night to Fårö. The next day included some surprises, mormor and morfar had built some "play stations" in the forest by the house, such as sandbox, swings, balance thing etc. Apart from playing Marlee has also practiced the biking a lot and he is doing so good. He can now start by himself and brake pretty good. The weather has been ridiculously cold this May but we have enjoyed outdoor activities with the children anyways.

Playing in the new sandbox

Practicing some tricks with morfar

Obstacle course on the beach

Time to go home...

No matter how cold the weather is, there is always time to run in the sprinklers!
