One week of camp is over...

A wonderful, intense, educational, delicious and fun week of camp is over and we are back in Ormond, since Sunday night. "Unfortunately", the kids had so much fun with their friends, their classes and the clown (who teaches them tricks, more later) so i didn't see them much and therefore there are not very many pictures... Anyways, the camp was up in New Hampshire and, as mentioned, we drove there and arrived late Sunday. I have not really kept in touch with other families that we met last year but to out great surprise most of them were there this year, too. The boys were so happy to see everyone, too!

Dance class with Donna. I managed to make the boys participate at one class but that was it... Guess dancing was not their favorite activity at the camp πŸ˜‚
The chef and his crew makes delicious food during the camp. New exciting things every day and dessert every dinner 😁
Just like last year they brought the cannons (not sure where they get them from..) and this year Marlee got to light one of them!! She is in the hat in the middle of the picture. Unfortunately, i don't have a picture of him doing it because I took David aside and covered his ears for the loud noise.
Each year "Spunky the clown" is at the camp. The boys love to hang out with him and he teaches them tricks. Last year he did balloons and joggling with Marlee and Noah. Noah did balloons all year since last camp and this year Spunky taught him some more techniques etc. Marlee learned to use the unicycle, in one day!!!! Gabriel tried really hard, too, and almost got it. Now they are both looking to buy a unicycle...

Each night there is entertainment around the fire and anyone who wants to show something is welcome to. There is singing, slots, violin playingsnd other instruments. Even little Raffi told a joke to everybody ❤️ He has become such an independent little guy, from being almost attached to me for his first three years. During one of the nights by the fire Spunky and Marlee ha splannwd a trick. I was not really aware of what they would do, but it ended up being Spunky on the unicycle, Marlee sitring on his shoulders with a spinning plate on a stick!
Just like last year the kids had a parade where they were dressed asnpeoplw during the colonial era. They are sooo cute!! They don't look as amused as we are who get to watch them πŸ˜‚
The week at camp was just as fun as last year and we were just as exhausted when we left as last year. Lol! Some friends of ours live in Vermont, not far from where we were in New Hampshire so before heading south again we planes a stop at Quechee gorge (as last year) and a quick dinner with our friends. We had not seen them for a few years and we had never met their son before, who is now 1, so it was so great to see them again!!

At Quechee Gorge it is a little walk from the parking lot up by the bridge, down to the river.
Up on the bridge again, looking down...
At the very end, where the river turns left, is where we go swimming :-)

Dinner with friends.
Back on the road again! This is how you keep the hotel costs down when travelling with children...

David is already 1/2 year!!!! 😭

As we are certainly celebrating this "little" guy's existance in this world I also feel a pinch of sadness as he is growing way too fast!! 6months already!!?? He got avocado (or "avocavo", as Raffi would say) for the first time yesterday and we have not decided what the 1/2 year birthday treat will be yet...

Check out these thunder thighs!!

On the road again...🎢🎢

It's funny, I feel like a have nothing interesting to write about so i don't post anything for a while, but then, when I do post something, I have too much to put our there!?

Last weekend we finally found a shed for our land in De Leon springs. We got a gate for our land a couple of weeks ago, and it is a basic farm gate but still so exciting as it is our first "investment" :-) Now we are getting ready for our next investment!! It is a 12'x32' (3,5mx10m) shed that we plan to make into a place for weekend trips, or a "friggebod"att :-)

Inside a shed like the one we ordered. We will only receive the "shell" and build the inside when we get it.
Funtime in "our" lake!!

The boys spent the past week doing camp in the morning and a few afternoons with friends. They had so much fun at the camp and a lot of friends were there, too.

Marlee finally got to go to the coin club and he was so excited! The brothers had fun with friends while me and David joined Marlee at the coming meeting. We were the only ones under 70... but Marlee loved it. :-)

Sitting in my highchair, getting ready for some baby cereal :-)

There might be teeth coming soon. David got a cold two days ago so that's another sign there my be teeth on their way in addition to chewing and drooling.. :-)

This is what happens when there are fire works in the middle of the good night story...
When camp was over yesterday we left and had dinner with one of Alex's older sisters in Jacksonville before driving north. We will miss her big birthday party because of our trip but at least we got to see her.

The (according to us) so called Batman bridge almost feels like an entrance to adventure. Several of our road trips start by going over this bridge in Jacksonville.
We spent last night in South Carolina. At the moment we are in Virginia. We hope to make it to Philadelphia tonight but it is another 4h and it is 6pm now...

Like father like son

This little guy goes to sleep late and wakes up late. He fell asleep around 1:30am last night and woke up after 11am this morning!! Even worse than his dad! Of course he had s few meals in between but was only awake for the munchies and not a second longer :-)

Happy (late) Independence Day!!

Despite my appendix issues we made it to Madison for 4th of July. It has become a tradition as long as we are in Florida and it is such a nice place to celebrate Independence day. Last year they canceled the fire works because of covid but this it was back to normal. Last year we were a lot of family meeting in Madison, this year it was 5 adults, 5 kids and 5 dogs.

The fireworks this year was on July 3, not sure why.

Road on our land
While waiting for the fireworks down by the pond down town Madison...

When we came back to our place after, some of the kids made a toad farm :-) It even had a mayor!!
4th of July...

Noah mowing the grass!
Aunt Cindy and Uncle Danny brought the 4-wheelers, which meant lots and lots of fun!! I stayed behind the camera, only, this time because of my surgery.

As always, Aunt Cindy and Uncle Danny had planned and prepared a delicious dinner for everyone. This year, because of my surgery, i did not even bring a side...

Marlee and Noah had created a "bomb" for 4th of July. They worked on it for weeks and contained all kinds of little "poppers", smoke bins, matches and sparklers. We expected something noisy when we lit it but unfortunately it burned more like a fire, with a few different colors, thanks to the smoke bombs.

No 4th of July without s'mores. The boys prepared their own sticks to grill the marshmallows on.

July 5th...

Our company, Aunt Jackie, Aunt Cindy and Uncle Danny left today and we stayed another day.

July 6th...

I started the day with a nature walk :-) There are so many pretty flowers and plants. Our garden, that mostly Alex has planted is doing well.

We left yesterday and came back home to a house with a dead AC. Luckily it was cloudy outside and not too hot. This morning we found a repair guy and our house is nice and cool again :-)
