Nice day in Uppsala and a little flashback :-)

Today we all (Marlee, Alex, Kathy, Buddy and I) went to Uppsala to a culture festival. It was a lot of fun. Marlee enjoyed lots of different music and so did the rest of us. We finished the day at Eko café which a friend of us runs. Marlee never napped in the afternoon and totally passed out in Eko café :-)

May 26 2011, Marlee's first haircut

Farmor and farmar arrived two days ago after a long but ok trip. Yesterday Alex got a neccessary haricut by Kathy and I gave Marlee his first haircut ever.

"The Moster Linn visit"

Tomorrow it is time to go back home. We have had a very good time! Right now I am sitting on my bed and Marlee is lying in his bed, trying to sleep. He has had some problem going to sleep lately and is very energetic in his bed before he can calm down and go to sleep. Though, he is sleeping very good during the night and normally just wakes up once or twise to look for the binkey, or come over to our bed :-)

Well, back to our visit. We have not done very much just "relaxed". Lots of walks with Bosse (Linn's and Johan's New Foundland dog) and Marlee and just regular things like cooking, eating, changing diapers, playing, brushing teeth etc. And best of all enjoying being with my sister! Today Marlee and I took care of Bosse while Linn and Johan were working. It was fun and most of the time Bosse behaved :-)

Yesterday Marlee, Linn and I went shopping for a sunhat, I had forgotten to bring one. We found two super charming hats on H&M that I just had to buy because they were so charming. I could definately have bought even more hats but I assume two is more than enough (since we have two at home, too...).

Well, now Marlee is actually sleeping and I should start packing and preparing for the train trip tomorrow. I also want to take the chance to wish Kathy and Buddy a safe trip over the Atlantic tomorrow!!

Marlee and I are visiting my sister Linn and her Johan right now. We took the train from Stockholm yesterday and arrived here in the afternoon. At the train we met another mum with her daughter which we talked a lot with. They were planning on taking a cruise to St Petersburg soon, just what we have been talking about doing with Alex's parents who are coming next week. Marlee enjoyed the trip by napping, eating and walking up and down the aisle and up and down the aisle and up and down the aisle and...

Sunny Days!!!

  

We have had some great warm and sunny days but today it was a little chilly again and cloudy. Pretty nice I must say after some very warm days. It always makes me feel bad if I spend a lot of time inside when the weather is gorgeous. Here in Sweden you never know how many nice warm days the summer will have in stock and Swedes tend to run outside as soon as there is sunshine. We really appreciate the sun :-)

Marlee has used his inflatable pool during the warm days and he really enjoys it!!

We have also practiced walking a lot, which is so much fun. He hardly crawls at all now. I need to keep a close eye on him all the time now but it is also making some things easier when he can walk on his own. Going in the stroller for a long time is not popular at all anymore, unless it is naptime... Jackie, the black and yellow shoes you gave Marlee is perfect to walk in!

Today we took a walk down to the mail box together. Here in Sweden people normally have their mailbox next to their house, just like in the States, but in "summer house neighbourhoods", like our, they are sometimes gathered in one spot.

I will have some friends over tomorrow for coffee ("fika") so tonight I spent time baking. Something I really enjoy when I have some time! Alex took care of taking Marlee to sleep which took a loooong time today

So some time passed since last time I wrote something here and this is what has been going on here:

Trip with the open pre-school to "Junibacken", which is a childrens' play place based on the books by Astrid Lindgren (the author of Pippi Longstocking). "Unfortunately" I was too busy running after Marlee and make sure no other kids would run him over, I did not have time to take any pictures. We had a good time though.

One morning when Marlee and I woke up (Alex got up a little later :-) it was snowing so much outside, in MAY!!!! I must say that spring has been fantastic so maybe we should expect this, but still... It was cold, dark and grey, and, I guess, kind of white, too...

Apart from watching snowfalls we have also spent time in the playground close to my parents' house. When we are home Marlee makes sure to entertain himself, sometimes by emptying the drawers in the kitchen, which is always a lot of fun!! Sometimes by being carried around, making sure I will not do anything without him supervising :-)

Today we went to Saltå Kvarn, which is a little villige where they live "close to nature". They produce food products that are sold in regular grocery stores and it is all organinc / bio dynamic. They also have their own school and hospital. We went there with some friends who have a daughter (4 months old) and a dog who Marlee really likes, Mr Stevens.

Walk, walk, walk...

Yesterday was "Valborg" celebration here in Sweden and big bonfires all over the country. We had friends over for food and games and later we went to the fire in our neighborhood. I great day!

Today we started the day (after breakfast etc) with a morning walk. Walking around the neighborhood is probably Marlee's favorite thing right now :-)

Two days ago Sofia and Mobi was visiting, and finally I remembered to take a picture of Mobi. He is 7 months and sooooo cute!!!!!
