Europe Trip: Parga - Acheron river - Diakopto (Greece)

Day 20: Drive from Parga to Diakopto, Greece. Stopped by the Acheron river.

We left Parga behind us and made our first stop in Gliki by the Acheron river. It was beautiful!!! We walked up the river until it got to deep (over our waist) and enjoyed the fascinating nature. The water was only 13-15C/55-59F so it was really freezing in the beginning but once we got used to it it was surprisingly fine.

We are supposed to meet mormor and morfar in Athens tomorrow so we spent the night along the Gulf of Corinth, in Diakopto. On the way there we passed over a very nice bridge.

Last breakfast on our balcony in Parga
 Acheron river...

Lunch by the river

Marlee lost a shoe in the river so Alex had to RUN and catch it further down!
When walking upstream the walk was first along the river before the mountain sides got to steep and we had to get in the water to continue.

These two were so brave in the water!!!

Marlee picking up trash from other visitors..

We carried Gabriel when the water got too deep for him (over his waist)

Back on the road again... you never know what you will find on the Greek roads. Lol!
