NOTA and Weekend without the kids!!

You might wonder what NOTA is? It stands for Night Of The Arts and it is a night where the kids/families in our Blue Oak coop are able to present artwork or perform on stage. All our boys except David had Lego creations that they had on display and they all did something on stage. Alex sang a song with them on stage and they all played different instruments. It was great! Even David stayed “in position” and did his drumming :-) Gabriel also had a solo performance where he played a song on the piano. Noah participated in two “class performances”, one with his Civics class (my class, and they did the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem) and one with his “Manners and Etiquette” class, where they played a few skits. It was a wonderful night and a lot of good performances!!

My Civics class

Playing Gaga ball afterwards. David was in erupting their game but was very popular anyways :-)

As NOTA was a big event for us it was probably not as big as the weekend trip me and Alex did to Idaho. First time we went somewhere overnight without the kids. Oh no, that’s not right. We did an over night trip several years ago in Sweden when we only had two kids (I think?). Farmor and uncle Cory came up to watch the boys as Alex and I flew of to Idaho for a conference where he was speaking. It was snowing when we arrived and it kept snowing all day the first day!!!!! It could not be better! They don’t normally get his much snow in March so I am very grateful!

Our rental car…

View from our hotel room by coeur d’Alene lake.

After checking in we went to have an early dinner at a Greek restaurant and then drove around a little. First time I saw an ice fisherman having a tent on the ice. I can understand if you want a nice wind free place to go.

The nature really reminded me of Sweden :-)

We were invited to a mingle party that night and we almost got stuck on the little road. We had to park when we could not drive any higher with our car and walk the last few hundred meters. Not far at all.

They next day the snow has stopped and we had a little better view.

Last night we had dinner at one of Alex’s friends house after we went for a hike in the snowy woods :-) it was such a wonderful, snowy and quiet walk!!!

As far as I have heard the done well at home, even David!! But I am ready to get home to them now.

  1. Härliga vinterbilder. Ni skulle haft en extra dag och hyrt och åkt skidor.
Grabbarnas musikuppträdande är en höjdpunkt. Du har skickat en film med ljudtill o tidigare.
