Europe Trip: Zwickau, Germany

Day 91: Zwickelina and dinner with my friend and her family

What a beautiful place! The German Christmas decorations might be some of the most beautiful ones! The boys and I tried to visit some children "museums" first but nothing was open at this time of the year so we ended up going to an indoor play place, Zwickelina. We had so much fun!! When we had had enough fun we drove into town to meet my friend when she finished work to have dinner with her, her husband and her daughter, who I had never met before. She is Rafael's age.

Day 92: Shopping and Christmas market

We spent some of the day shopping in a shopping mall since it was really really cold outside and we did not have good clothes for that. However, later in the evening we had to ignore the cold as much as we could to visit the Christmas market. How wonderful!! It always bring me such joy to go to Christmas markets when it is actually winter :-) Zwickau had a great Christmas market and I wanted to buy to many things!! My friend was able to join us the whole day so that was very nice!

Day 93: Good bye and (a very looong) drive back to Katowice

We had breakfast with my friend before we had to leave to go back to Alex and Poland and go back to Sweden. The trip home was almost as adventurous as the trip here, but in a different way. There was one or more accidents on the highway and it delayed us several hours. For a long time the traffic was completely stopped. Good I had some kid's CDs in the car and kids who are wonderful travelers!!!

Note how the cars in the left lane drive all the way to the left. It is because there is a law that they have to do that when there is an accident so that there is a lane for ambulances etc. It is so interesting to see how the German people follow the law so obedient (similar to Swedes) when I have a very hard time imagining Greeks or Italians caring at all for a law like that.
