Day 74: Papasidero to Pompeii to Rome
What an interesting place to visit, even though sad and a bit terrifying. It gave me a similar feeling as visiting a (former) concentration camp, which I did many years ago.
The ancient Roman city of Pompeii was covered in volcanic ashes in 79 AD when the volcano Vesuvius erupted. Now it has been uncovered and it is possible to walk around the what is left of the city. We were pretty much alone since it was pouring rain most of the visit.

When we were tired and soaking wet we drove the 5h drive to Rome for more exciting adventures...
Det regnade i alla fall inte aska.
