Day 46: Greece's National Day Oxi/Ochi. Rainy. October 28.
We have not had much rain during our trip but Corfu gave us a fair share. We stayed "home" a lot, catching up on school work but also other activities. We had hoped to watch the Greek people celebrating their day but the weather made us stay inside instead.
Pasta on Oxi day!
Day 47: Exploring Palaiokastritsa
The water surrounding Palaiokastritsa looked absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the weather was not really beach weather but we did some exploring.
Agios Petros Beach
Our neighborhood, Olive trees...
School work with silly boys!!
Day 48: More rain and wind on Corfu
And more pasta :-)
And more school work
After a hard working morning we got some rewards :-) The local aquarium, which was also a terrarium. The boys are surely braver than I am!! Lol!
Day 49: School work and packing
A funny visitor
Day 50: Visited Corfu town and drove to Igoumenitsa to take the ferry to Italy
In Corfu town we saw the Old Castle. It was a nice bridge leading out to the island and we were reminded of the very poor areas of Greece (see the "houses" along the wall)...
Nice view of Corfu
St Georges's church
After visiting Corfu town we went on the ferry to the main land where we took the ferry over to Italy...
Beautiful scenery and GREAT octopus photo. I do find it very interesting that the Greek apply pasta to their foreheads and fingers to celebrate OXI DAY. Love, Farfar
Hej Tina, som vanligt härliga bilder. Killarna verkar gilla ormar och insekten verkade vara en Vandrande pinne". Härligt att följa er, om en med fördröjning.
