Exploring the former lime stone industry at Bläse and Stenkusten (photo medley)

A great day spent at the former lime stone industry at Bläse, which is now a museum. We took the little train where they used to transport the lime stone and climbed the lime stone waste hill, before driving the coastal dirt road back to the Fårö ferry. Great adventures and challenges for the boys!

On the ferry over to Gotland from Fårö

Arrived at the lime stone industry museum and and train

Morfar and Noah on the train

Marlee on the train

Arrived at the lime stone quarry (kalkstensbrott)

By the shore

Time to go back to the factory

Our next challenge is to climb the "waste hill"

Some parts were pretty steep

View of the factory and port

Such beautiful surroundings!!!

Took the car back to the quarry to go swimming :-)

Explored a bunker near by

I asked them to look cool inside the bunker!?

Beautiful drive along Stenkusten back to the ferry (we will take you here next time, pappa!)

  1. Very neat! Looks like great fun for the kids. You guys have known this place all your lives and now mormor and morfar are able to share it with their grandchildren. What could be better than that? THANKS!! Love, Farfar
