Arrived to Fårö

(This is done via my smartphone so I hope it will be ok)

Today our friends Sofia and Mobi left for India and Mobi's dad, so yesterday we spent some time with them to say good bye. Very sad.. After that we jumped on the ferry to gotland to spend some time with morfar on Fårö. We arrived two on the morning.

Today we have had a good day with nice weather and lots of exploration :-) Dad on the other hand accidently locked himself in the house st home but managed to get put via the balcony!

Too stupid for a smartphone!!

I am sorry that I have not written in such a long time but I blame my smartphone. What is so darn smart about smartphones I wonder!!??? I wanted to make the next post via my phone so that I could have the very latest videos and picture but that did not work out... I managed to make a new post and write some but I could not upload a video and that was the main point. Rather annoying! Well, I feel bad about waiting until I have figured it all out so this post is done via my laptop. I do have some cute videos and pictures taken with my new phone though to show you. 

Enough of that! We have enjoyed the wonderful weather and gone swimming a few times. Plants have been replanted as soon as we have had time for that. Alex prepared the second lot yeasterday so that I could put some plants there such as tomatoes, physalis, peppers, potatoes, corn, unions and beans.

Marlee has started to "organise" things which means that it really likes to "take things back and forth". It can be shoes, building blocks, bath toys etc. He is such good entertainment!! He also likes to run between things and around things, kind of making his own little roads :-)

Another day of sunshine and Marlee and I took the opportunity to go swimming in the lake. Well "swimming" might be an exaggeration but we did dip everything but the head in the water!! Marlee did not really have an option after playing in the sand :-)

Farmor and farfar left two days ago and arrived safely in Miami. Thanks Kathy for cleaning car, bathtub, windows etc and for pulling weeds! Thanks Buddy for good breakfast!

I got myself a (for me) fancy smart phone today so hopefully I can document Marlee in the quality he deserves from now on, or as soon as I figured out how it works :-)

Mosquito bite?

Before we left Åland yesterday Marlee got, what we thought was, a mosquito bite on his forehead, above his right eyebrow. First it looked just like a mosquito bite but then it started to swell. It kept swelling all evening and continued today. Kathy and I went down town Stockholm today and finally decided to go to the doctor. Luckily we found one that was open and Marlee got some cortison to drink. After waiting one hour the swelling was still as bad, but at least it did not get worse. The doctor gave us some other medicin too and he is supposed to take them both until the swelling is better. Marlee does not seem bothered by it though, he just looks a little funny, like a cartoon copy of himself with a big forehead and nose and deep eyes :-)

Well, Kathy and I got some good food shopping done on "Söder" while "the old boys" mowed the lawn and went fishing.

The trip back home yesterday was very nice. The sun was pretty warm and they played music in a few different places at the boat that we enjoyed.

Trip to Åland

In the last second we booked a trip to Åland, an island that belongs to Finland but where the official language is Swedish (it once belonged to Sweden).

We left home yesterday afternoon and headed for the ferry. In accordance with the reservation information we arrived to the ferry 1 hour before departure, only to be told that we were supposed to be there 1,5 hours before departure... They could not let us on the ship!

We waited by the port and eventually the same company could get us on a later ship that would pass Åland, too. We would only arrive one hour later. The trip with the ferry went fine and we arrived to Mariehamn on Åland where we found our guesthouse. A cute little house by the water.

Today we spent the day driving around and we have visited a lot of cute and beautiful places. I am positively surprised with how nice this place is!!

Marlee went "swimming" when we got back to our guesthouse. He never really went swimming but dipped his little behind in the water :-) I started our with just taking off his socks and shoes but soon realised that it all had to go...
