Loooong drive home, the new house and beach

On the way back home from camp I got really sick  I honestly just wanted to  url up on the floor in the hotel room. But, we made it out of the hotel in New Jersey and back on the road. As Alex started to feel sick as well we decided to drive all the way home that day/night. We really did not want to get stuck somewhere, if we both got sick and could not drive. It was about a 14h drive and it was long! But we made it home, at five in the morning!! Honestly it is not that bad to be sick on the road, you can sit still and rest and don’t have to run after little children :-) Food is served when you want to eat and I was already feeling a little better when we arrived at home. Thankfully Alex did never get as sick as I was and mine didn’t last more than 3-4 days.

Back home again we went to see our new house and the progress they had made, new siding (board and batten) on the outside!

Baking ciabatta to prepare for guests coming over.

Camp Constitution

Arrived to New Hampshire!!

As normal I hardly see the kids when we are at camp. Even David ran around doing his own thing most of the time. They have too much fun to be with their parents :-)

David walking down to the Gaga ball pit.

Gabriel made a traditional hat in class, and signed his on Declaration of Independence.

“Simon says” game for young and old. Noah did really good and got second place!

Overview of  the lake. The kids had so much fun with the blob where they jump down on it and that way launch the one at the end of the blob.

Shooting class for little ones :-)

After leaving we went to Quechee gorge as we normally do after camp. It is such a fun place to go swimming.

Stop 3 - Hartford, CT

We picked Alex up and spent the night in an apartment outside Hartford. We had a lunch planned with a friend and before and after that we explored a little, before heading north to camp.

Stop 3 - Statue of Liberty and Ellis island

Ao the kids and I spent our second day at the Statue of Liberty. We parked by Liberty Park in New Jersey where we took the boat over to the island. It was another hot day but today we were prepared worh lots of water and food. We had spent the night in a small house 30min from the park so I went to the grocery store and got pasta and other things to make a picnic with.

On the ferry

Manhattan

Passing Ellis Island, which we would visit after Statue of Liberty.

Picnic on Liberty island by the statue.

Making fun picture with the statue :-)

Tickling her :-)

The water mist sprays felt really good in the heat!

In the museum.

Ellis island, where around 12 million immigrants arrived between 1890s and 1950s. We were really tired when we arrived to island but walked around the museum for a little bit. We could have spent a lot more time there but we were tired and we needed to drive to Hartford Connecticut to pick up Alex.

Back at Liberty park, NJ and the train station that has not been used in a long time. Another quick picnic before heading out.
