Raukar and Elsie’s café

We cannot go to Fårö without visiting the Raukar. It was time, and we went to both Digerhuvud and Langhammars. We even stopped at fishing village Helgumannen. After our, somewhat freezing explorations, we stopped at Elsie’s cafe for some delicious, and very pretty, food!

Hunting for a Christmas tree

My experience is that Americans put up their Christmas tree as early as possible where as Swedes put it up close to Christmas. We normally decorated the day before Christmas (we celebrate on December 24) when I grew up, this year we did it a little earlier, December 21. First we had to find the tree…

Ww found a few small ones…

… and one ”big” one.  The are no traditional Christmas trees on Fårö but the local trees are good, too :-)

Cutting down the tree…

Before being decorated…

Actually, Alex and I were not part of decorating the tree as we had dinner alone at restaurant Magasinet in Fårösund. It was so delicious!!

While we were gone this happened at the house…

Meeting Fårö Santa in the woods

Santa came to the woods of Fårö with his horses and served glögg, hot chocolate and ginger bread cookies :-)

Fenomenalen in Visby

While the adults were trying to do some last minute Christmas shopping the kids had fun at Fenomenalen in Visby. We took turns staying with them there. There were a lot of fun things to explore.
