Beach, of course

News for today is a bike ride and riding in the little green cart that I used to play with as a child. Spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.

Yet another great day on the beach.  Marlee's favorite activity is to jump down in small holes in the sun and have someone covering his legs in the sand :-) He got a warm bath when we got home to rinse the sand away.

We have had a great day on the beach, only Alex was missing! It was vett sunny and warm, hardly no wind and 24C/75F in the water. Marlee was playing in the water until he was shaking because he liked it so much.

I have tried to update the blog for a long time and now I finally do it from my parents' computer. What I tried to post yesterday was:

Today we have spent most of the day on the beach eventhough the weather has not been very sunny, strange fog has been blowing(?) around on the beach (you can see it in the video in the background). Marlee has played with Jonathan and morfar on the beach and he got a well deserved bath when we got home.

Today, Monday, we have spent all day on the beach in very nice and sunny weather. Marlee's friend Jonathan left today so now we have to find new friends! No pictures or videos from today. Looking forward to a day on the beach tomorrow again! Marlee is really enjoying playing in the sun and the water!!

After rain comes sunshine!

Alex drove us to the airport in pouring rain. The flight went perfect, only 35 minutes. We Arrived to Visby, Gotland where the sun was shining!!! A friend of mine, Maja, and her family are here on Fårö too so we spent some time on the beach together. Marlee had a lot of fun with Jonathan eventhough it was rather cold :-)

Glad midsommar!!!

Today is Midsummer and we have mostly been creative at home, fixing, working etc. In the last second we decided not to go to uppsala to celebrate but participated at the local celebrations. It was a lot of fun. Marlee and I danced around the midsummer pole with the other children. Tomorrow we are going to Fårö for a week. Alex will stay home and catch up on some work as well as maintaining the garden :-) Marlee and I are very happy that he will look after the garden for us so that we can (hopefully) chill on the beach in the sun!

Back at home

Marlee and I got home Saturday and went directly to a friends birthday party. We all had a great time. Marlee got to wear his fancy hat :-)

Yesterday Marlee and I spent some time in the garden in the rain (it was raining all day!) and after that we went to Uppsala to have dinner at some friends' place. Very yummy Uruguayin (?) food! Second night in a row that Marlee stays up late...

Today Marlee has been proving (many times) that he can drink on his own. He has not really done that properly before but finally :-) He also had his first hamburger today. Not so sure that is a good thing though... At least it was a Max hamburgetr which is the best ones in Sweden (I think).

Arrived to Fårö

Today our friends Sofia and Mobi left for India and Mobi's dad, so yesterday we spent some time with them to say good bye. Very sad.. After that we jumped on the ferry to gotland to spend some time with morfar on Fårö. We arrived two on the morning.

Today we have had a good day with nice weather and lots of exploration :-) Dad on the other hand accidently locked himself in the house st home but managed to get put via the balcony!

Too stupid for a smartphone!!

I am sorry that I have not written in such a long time but I blame my smartphone. What is so darn smart about smartphones I wonder!!??? I wanted to make the next post via my phone so that I could have the very latest videos and picture but that did not work out... I managed to make a new post and write some but I could not upload a video and that was the main point. Rather annoying! Well, I feel bad about waiting until I have figured it all out so this post is done via my laptop. I do have some cute videos and pictures taken with my new phone though to show you. 

Enough of that! We have enjoyed the wonderful weather and gone swimming a few times. Plants have been replanted as soon as we have had time for that. Alex prepared the second lot yeasterday so that I could put some plants there such as tomatoes, physalis, peppers, potatoes, corn, unions and beans.

Marlee has started to "organise" things which means that it really likes to "take things back and forth". It can be shoes, building blocks, bath toys etc. He is such good entertainment!! He also likes to run between things and around things, kind of making his own little roads :-)

Another day of sunshine and Marlee and I took the opportunity to go swimming in the lake. Well "swimming" might be an exaggeration but we did dip everything but the head in the water!! Marlee did not really have an option after playing in the sand :-)

Farmor and farfar left two days ago and arrived safely in Miami. Thanks Kathy for cleaning car, bathtub, windows etc and for pulling weeds! Thanks Buddy for good breakfast!

I got myself a (for me) fancy smart phone today so hopefully I can document Marlee in the quality he deserves from now on, or as soon as I figured out how it works :-)

Mosquito bite?

Before we left Åland yesterday Marlee got, what we thought was, a mosquito bite on his forehead, above his right eyebrow. First it looked just like a mosquito bite but then it started to swell. It kept swelling all evening and continued today. Kathy and I went down town Stockholm today and finally decided to go to the doctor. Luckily we found one that was open and Marlee got some cortison to drink. After waiting one hour the swelling was still as bad, but at least it did not get worse. The doctor gave us some other medicin too and he is supposed to take them both until the swelling is better. Marlee does not seem bothered by it though, he just looks a little funny, like a cartoon copy of himself with a big forehead and nose and deep eyes :-)

Well, Kathy and I got some good food shopping done on "Söder" while "the old boys" mowed the lawn and went fishing.

The trip back home yesterday was very nice. The sun was pretty warm and they played music in a few different places at the boat that we enjoyed.

Trip to Åland

In the last second we booked a trip to Åland, an island that belongs to Finland but where the official language is Swedish (it once belonged to Sweden).

We left home yesterday afternoon and headed for the ferry. In accordance with the reservation information we arrived to the ferry 1 hour before departure, only to be told that we were supposed to be there 1,5 hours before departure... They could not let us on the ship!

We waited by the port and eventually the same company could get us on a later ship that would pass Åland, too. We would only arrive one hour later. The trip with the ferry went fine and we arrived to Mariehamn on Åland where we found our guesthouse. A cute little house by the water.

Today we spent the day driving around and we have visited a lot of cute and beautiful places. I am positively surprised with how nice this place is!!

Marlee went "swimming" when we got back to our guesthouse. He never really went swimming but dipped his little behind in the water :-) I started our with just taking off his socks and shoes but soon realised that it all had to go...
